# Creating a Category

1. In the [**Admin Portal**](https://admin.gobossit.com/), navigate to **Menu** > **Categories**.
2. Click **Add category**.
3. Enter the details:
   1. **Name** — Internal category name
   2. **PLU —** Automatically generated value (can be manually overridden)
   3. **List order —** Numerical value for display (ascending)
4. Click **Create**.
