# External Order Settings

## Poll External Orders

To show external orders in the POS, the **Poll External Orders** setting must be enabled.

1. In the POS, go to **Settings**.
2. Under **Order**, set **Poll external orders** to **Yes.**

{% hint style="warning" %}
If polling is disabled, the system will not look for external orders.
{% endhint %}

## Print New External Orders

The system offers three print options for external orders:

1. In the POS, go to **Settings**.
2. Under **Order**, set **Print new external order** to:
 * No — Nothing prints when orders are accepted, regardless of acceptance method.
 * Manually Accepted — Only orders that have been manually accepted will print.
 * All accepted — All external orders print automatically, regardless of acceptance method.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Print External Orders** setting is only available when **Poll External Orders** is enabled. If **Poll External Orders** is disabled, **Print External Orders** is **greyed out**.
{% endhint %}

## Receipt Count for External Order

You can set how many receipts will be printed for external orders.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.bossithq.com/pos/external-order-management/external-order-settings.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
