# Multi-Stage Cooking Configuration

## Station Configuration

Multi-stage cooking relies on stations being set in a defined sequence. Each station is assigned a sequential **stage number**, which determines the order in which items move through the cooking process.

1. In th**e** [**Admin Portal**](https://admin.gobossit.com/), navigate to **Layout** > **Kitchen Stations**.
2. Either **create a new station** or **select an existing station**.
3. Set the **Stage number.**
   * Use 0 for the first stage, then continue in ascending order.
   * The sequence defines the flow of products between stations.
4. Click **Save**.

> **Example**:
>
> Preparation station: Stage number is set to 0.
>
> Cutting station: Stage number is set to 1.

## Product Assignment

Products can be assigned to multiple stations. When a product is linked to multiple stations, the product will move through each station in order, following the stage numbers set in configuration.

> **Example:**
>
> Pepperoni Pizza is assigned to **both** Preparation station **and** Cutting station. When the product is marked as Ready in the Preparation station KDS screen, it will then move to the Cutting station KDS screen.
