# Service Charges and Discounts on Split Orders

The application of service charges and discounts depends on where they are applied:

#### Applied on Main Checkout

When a service charge or discount is applied to the entire order on the main checkout screen, the calculation is based on the **total order value** (all items combined). This charge or discount can then be transferred between groups as needed.

> A 10% discount applied on the main checkout calculates 10% of the entire order total, regardless of how the items are later split into groups.

#### Applied on Split Order Screen

When a service charge or discount is applied directly within the split order screen, it applies only to the **specific group's items** and is calculated based on that group's subtotal only.
